Coach Dan Petrescu is on fire.
Jeonbuk Hyundai won 2-0 against Incheon United in the 25th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at Jeonju World Cup Stadium at 7 p.m. on June 6.
With the victory over Incheon, Jeonbuk moved to 40 points on the season and moved up to third place in the K League 1 after knocking FC Seoul off the pace.
Coach Petrescu told the post-match press conference, “It was an important match. We played better in the first half. We were keen to defend in the second half, but we could have scored 3-0 or 4-0.”
There was also the factor of heavy rain. At the beginning of the game, it was raining heavily, which made it difficult for the team to develop passes and play well.
“When water pools, passing can be difficult. It could be a good opportunity for the opponent, so we gave a straightforward order.”
Jeonbuk received the same news ahead of their home game. They were about to lose their home game.
The K-pop concert, the main event of the 2023 Saemangeum World Scouting Jamboree in Buan, Jeollabuk-do, was scheduled to be held on the 6th, but was changed to the 11th. The venue was also decided to be the Jeonju World Cup Stadium.
Jeonbuk suddenly found itself in a situation where it had to give up its backyard. They were scheduled to play the FA Cup semifinals against Incheon on Sept. 9 and the 26th round of the K League 1 against Suwon Samseong on Sept. 12 at home, but the venue change is inevitable.
Due to the stage setup and dismantling of the K-pop concert, the main event of the Saemangeum World Scouting Jamboree, Jeonbuk will not be able to play at Anbang on September 9 and 12.
The government and the local government of Jeollabuk-do, which manages the Saemangeum Jamboree, reportedly communicated more of a notice than cooperation.
Coach Petrescu said, “It’s huge. It’s something I’ve never experienced in my life. We’re going to have to reschedule, and it’s going to have a huge impact.” 꽁머니
On Park Jae-yong, who opened the scoring on his home debut, Petrescu said, “We spoke briefly yesterday and today. I was lucky to score on my debut, so I feel good.”
