Incheon is introducing a special braille uniform for the first time in Korea.
Incheon United announced on the 13th that it has produced a special kit for the 2023 season marked in braille for the visually impaired for the first time in domestic professional sports.
Incheon’s special kit for the 2023 season contains the meaning of aiming for a society united by soccer and the invisible pain of the visually impaired. All black color background, gray tone markings and patches, and the team name is written in braille on the lower part of the team emblem on the front of the shirt and on the back neck so that the visually impaired can read it directly with their fingertips.
The relationship between the Incheon club and the visually impaired began in 2022. On April 20th, in order to widely publicize the Handicapped Day and Hunmaengjeongeum braille made by teacher Park Doo-seong from Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, for the blind, we invited visually impaired YouTubers Woo-ryeong and Oneshot Hansol in the home game against Jeju United in the 9th round of the 2022 season, respectively. The time axis was carried out.
And the players went out to the game wearing braille marking uniforms that day. Inspired by the braille marking uniforms of the time, the special kit for the 2023 season was marked with Hunmaengjeongeum braille so that visually impaired people could read it with their fingertips, and it was composed of all black and gray tones. The uniform with braille is the first in domestic professional sports.
The Incheon team will wear the special kit for the first time in the away game against Gangwon FC in the 7th round of Hanawon Q K League 1 2023 on the 16th, and then in the home game against Suwon FC in the 8th round on the 22nd and the home game against Ulsan Hyundai in the 9th round on the 25th. The Incheon club will not stop at producing special kits, but will carry out various social contribution activities to have a positive impact on the local community as a citizen club.

In addition, a portion of the sales of this special kit will be donated to the Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired in Incheon.
