Chelsea → Tottenham ‘shock appointment’? Chelsea executives ‘surge’ in liking after meeting

Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino is moving to Chelsea.

Chelsea are looking for a new manager after the sacking of former manager Graham Porter. In addition to Pochettino, Julian Nagelsmann, Zinedine Zidane, Luis Enrique and Diego Simeone are mentioned as potential candidates.

Earlier this season, Chelsea sacked manager Thomas Tuchel, and Manager Porter was also sacked for poor performance. Afterwards, former manager Frank Lampard, who had previously led Chelsea once, took over as a temporary manager and led the team until the end of the season.

British Sky Sports said on the 21st (Korean time), “Chelsea has held initial negotiations with manager Pochettino for the manager position. Manager Pochettino is currently one of five candidates.”

According to the media, Chelsea have liked coach Pochettino from the past, and when coach Tuchel left the team in September of last year, they once inquired about the possibility of taking over as manager. Manager Pochettino is also having a hiatus after parting ways with PSG in July last year.

Of course, it’s not just Chelsea who are after him. Real Madrid have also made two offers, and have rejected several offers from clubs in other European leagues.

Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville singled out Pochettino as the best successor and said, “If you appoint Zidane, Enrique and Simeone, you may not like some of the players you have signed. In that case, you will need a lot of money.” 먹튀검증

Meanwhile, the British <Telegraph> reported on the same day that Pochettino’s move to Chelsea was speeding up with an article titled “Chelsea’s hopes are boosted after positive talks with Pochettino.”

If manager Pochettino confirms a move to Chelsea, it could be a bit of a shock transfer. Before taking the PSG baton, he led Tottenham from 2014 to 2019 and led them to runner-up in the UEFA Champions League. Tottenham have formed a recent rivalry with London-based Chelsea, though not as much as their north London rivals Arsenal. Attention is focusing on whether the match between the two teams will be a ‘Pochettino Derby’.
