Atlanta clinches first-ever PS berth…6th straight year of fall baseball

The first team to clinch a spot in the 2023 Major League Baseball postseason is the Atlanta Braves.

Atlanta clinched a postseason berth with a 5-2 home win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Nov. 11, giving them a 93-49 record and at least the third wild-card spot.

They became the first team in Major League Baseball to clinch a spot in fall baseball this season.

They’re also favored to win the division. They are currently 15 games ahead of the second-place Philadelphia Phillies and have a magic number of 6 to win the division.
They’re likely to be the first team to clinch a postseason berth and a district title. If they finish in the top two in the National League, they’ll go straight to the Division Series.

Atlanta has qualified for the postseason for six straight seasons. In their previous five postseasons, they reached the Championship Series twice and won the World Series once.

The team has solid power on both sides of the plate. The offense has four players with 30 or more home runs, including Matt Olson, who leads the team with 48, Ronald Acuña Jr. (35), Austin Riley (34), and Marcell Ozuna (33).

Most notably, Acuña Jr. has 64 stolen bases, making him the first player in Major League Baseball history to record 30 home runs and 60 stolen bases.

On the mound, Bryce Elder, Spencer Strider, Charlie Morton, and midseason acquisition Max Fried lead the starting staff. 소닉카지노

In the bullpen, reliever Raisel Iglesias is joined by A.J. Minter, Kirby Yates, Joe Jimenez, and midseason addition Pierce Johnson.
